Skilling The Youth

The Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) is a government program that aims to train young people from rural areas and help them get good job opportunities. The program focuses on giving youth the skills they need to become employable and build better futures for themselves and their families.

Under this project, about 550 rural youth from the districts of Varanasi and Chandauli will receive training in various job-oriented skills. The goal is to complete their training and help them secure placements in suitable jobs for 2025.

Through this initiative, the program not only improves the employability of rural youth but also supports the larger mission of reducing unemployment and promoting economic growth in rural areas.

Radhika Skill Center

The Radhika Skill Development Centre started in 2005 in Matiala, Delhi, with the aim of helping women and girls become self-reliant and overcome socio-economic challenges.

The main goal of the Centre is to create employment opportunities for disadvantaged women and adolescent girls, especially widows and those with limited support. The Centre offers vocational training in skills like cutting, tailoring, sewing, and embroidery, helping women become employable and improve their future prospects.

Women are selected through outreach programs where the team identifies families in need during field visits and through community referrals. The Centre provides certificate courses lasting six or twelve months, depending on the trainee’s needs. Each batch trains 30-40 women and girls, with sessions organized according to course duration.

To support employment opportunities, Ekta Shakti Foundation partners with local boutiques, small businesses, and training institutes, helping trained women find jobs or start their own work.
