Ekta Shakti Foundation (ESF) is actively working to improve the environment through its focus on eco-remediation, using phytoremediation—a natural process where plants and micro-organisms clean pollutants (like heavy metals) from soil, water, and air.
In partnership with Knorr-Bremse India Pvt. Ltd., ESF implemented two CSR projects in Palwal district, Haryana:
Highway Plantation: Planting 20,000 saplings along Mathura Road NH to clean polluted soil and air using phytoremediation species. Tests have confirmed high levels of heavy metals, which this project aims to reduce.
Palwal Railway Station Wetland Restoration: Restoring a nearby contaminated wetland by creating a Natural Treatment System (NTS) and using Floating Treatment Wetlands (FTWs) to clean the water and improve biodiversity.
These projects not only clean the environment but also help prevent zoonotic diseases linked to deforestation (like COVID-19 and Zika), by promoting dense forest growth and healthier ecosystems.
ESF has the expertise and resources to design, implement, and monitor such innovative ecological projects in both urban and rural settings, contributing to a cleaner and greener future.
